After a delay last fall, Dontnod Entertainment has revealed the release date of its upcoming supeatural action-RPG. Vampyr is set to launch on June 5, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Eurogamer).Vampyr will be Dontnod’s first title since the release of Life is Strange in 2015, and it couldn’t be more different. Set in 1918, Vampyr follows a doctor-tued-vampire in London during the Spanish Flu epidemic. While your vampiric nature compels you to thirst on blood, you don’t actually need to kill anyone in order to complete the game. Therein lies the moral dilemma at the center of Vampyr; do you give into your base desires, destroying the city in the process,  or do you ignore them and relinquish the possibility of becoming more powerful.Dontnod recently released a new video in its Vampyr webseries which can be seen below. Last month, Intel pulled back its Spectre patches for some platforms as it caused rebooting and other unexpected issues in PCs. Intel today announced updated Spectre patches for Skylake-based PCs. They have released them to OEM customers and industry partners, they will test Intel’s patch and then release it to general customers.It is highly recommended to update your PCs with these patches. According to the Department of Homeland Security’s cyber-emergency unit, US-CERT, as many as 85 percent of all targeted attacks can be prevented with regular system updates.“I can’t emphasize enough how critical it is for everyone to always keep their systems up-to-date. Research tells us there is frequently a substantial lag between when people receive updates and when they actually implement them. Lenovo today announced that they are voluntarily recalling some ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th Generation laptops in the interests of public safety. Lenovo has found that some ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th Gen laptops may have an unfastened screw that could damage the laptop’s battery causing overheating, potentially posing a fire hazard.Lenovo’s investigation and analysis determined that an unfastened, small screw, left in the unit during manufacture, could damage the surface of the lithium ion polymer battery and cause a short, leading to rapid cell discharge of the battery. This defect has led to three failures in the field. Lenovo has not received any reports of a fire.It is important to note that not all ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th Generation laptops are affected. Those which are built on or after November 1, 2017 are not affected. Microsoft has been pretty open when it comes to cross-platform support for both apps and services. Starting today, you will be able to use Microsoft’s virtual assistant Cortana on Apple iPads as well. This is not a big deal considering the fact that Microsoft already has Cortana for iPhones and this will just serve as an extension to the same.Cortana is not that different on iPads than it is on iPhones but the layout and the UI have been improved to adapt to the bigger screen. Lenovo today revealed a couple of ThinkVision monitors that look stunning. Especially the new ThinkVision X24 is an ultra-thin monitor at just 4mm thin with narrow (1.1mm) bezels.
