HP today introduced some major updates to its ZBook line of Windows 10 devices. The company’s ZBook line mostly includes mobile workstations built for the company’s enterprise customers, so they offer a lot of security features. The headline feature on the new ZBook devices, however, is the new self-healing BIOS. HP is calling it the Sure Start Gen3 which is apparently the industry’s first self-healing BIOS for PCs. HP’s Sure Start Gen 3 also includes “comprehensive” encryption, malware protection, data protection, threat detection and response, identity assurance, and strong authentication. The self-healing BIOS will essentially be able to restore itself when the BIOS is corrupted, making sure that the devices startup without any issues all the time — which is why HP is calling it “Sure Start”.

The new devices in the ZBook line include the new ZBook Studio, ZBook 17, ZBook 15, and the ZBook 14u. According to HP, the ZBook Studio can offer up to 16.5 hours of battery life which is a bit impressive considering the device is only 18mm thin. The new devices also include the usual Intel Xeon processors, NVIDIA’s Quadro GPUs, as well as a lot of RAM and storage. Here are full details:
