Microsoft Ventures invests in Frame, a startup working on cloud-based virtual workspaces

Frame, a California based startup is working on cloud-based virtual workspaces which will make it easy to run Windows applications from any device, at any time. Frame is used by enterprises, service providers and software vendors, such as Adobe, Autodesk, HP, Siemens and SolidWorks. Frame recently announced that it has closed a $16 million funding round from Microsoft Ventures and others. Frame has raised a total of $32 million since 2013.

“Frame delivers unparalleled business value to enterprises worldwide, giving millions of applications the most direct path to run from the cloud to a diverse set of browser-equipped endpoints,” said Nagraj Kashyap, corporate vice president at Microsoft Ventures. “We look forward to supporting Frame in their growth as they transform the end-user computing industry.”

Frame is planning to use this investment from Microsoft and others to accelerate the market shift from legacy on-premises desktop virtualization to scalable Frame cloud platform.
