Bandai Namco delays psychological thriller Get Even following Manchester attack

Bandai Namco just pushed back the release of Get Even, its upcoming psychological horror game, after yesterday’s devastating terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, United Kingdom. The company said, “Given recent events and out of respect, we have decided to postpone the commercial release of Get Even to June 23. We would like to express our deepest condolences to everyone concerned.”

Get Even revolves around suicide bombs and features a teenage pop star from what we’ve heard, so it’s understandable why Bandai Namco decided to delay the title by a month. The game is a tense and disturbing tale which may not sit well in this current climate.

In Get Even, Black, an ice-cold mercenary and hired gun, awakes in a mysterious old asylum with no memory of his past. Under the guidance of his anonymous captor, Red, Black embarks on a form of treatment, facilitated by unique technology: a headset that allows the user to relive their memories and experience them again in the present. And so Black tries to remember. With the help of the Pandora headset, he travels into the depths of his own mind to explore the truth behind the only thing he can remember: the rescue attempt of a teenage girl with a bomb strapped to her chest.
