Despite “Don’t Buy” recommendation, demand for Surface Laptop grows further

Despite “Don’t Buy” recommendation from Consumer Reports, demand for Surface Laptop seems to be growing further. Microsoft first announced that Surface Laptop will be available in four different colors (Platinum, Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, and Graphite Gold). However, these color options were available only for 8GB/256GB Surface Laptop and that too only in the US. Back in June, Microsoft announced that they are expanding their availability to 17 new markets.

• Platinum is the Surface core, the heritage color. Anodization gives it new depths and life. It continues to make a timeless and bright statement.
• Graphite Gold is the ultimate neutral. The shimmer in the metal and material bring a comforting glow.
• Cobalt Blue has the depth you see in the sea or sky. It’s a color inspired by nature and feels bright yet natural.
• Burgundy’s elegance stands out. The color shifts from soft rose to deep red as you move from day to night or from inside to out.

Because of high demand for these colors, shipping dates are slipping. Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, and Graphite Gold Surface Laptops now ships by 9/30/2017 in the US, which is almost one and a half month wait time. It’s good to see that Surface Laptop sales are exceeding Microsoft’s expectations. However in the UK and 16 other countries where Microsoft took pre-orders for these colors, Microsoft is planning to ship them by 24/08/2017.
