Update: BioWare confirmed that Mass Effect: Andromeda’s single-player expansions have been cancelled. There will be no content and or patches in the future after version 1.10.

Many weeks ago BioWare Montreal underwent significant restructuring and since then many people have come out and said that Mass Effect: Andromeda’s single-player expansions have been cancelled. According to a report by Kotaku who have significant industry connections, “Mass Effect: Andromeda will indeed not be receiving any single-player DLC, three people familiar with BioWare’s plans have told me.” This is definitely disturbing and disheartening news because I know many people were looking forward to exploring other parts of Andromeda.

The fact that so many reputed people are coming out and saying that the expansions have been cancelled gives it a lot of credibility. Considering the fact that the game was panned by critics and was released in a broken state, it would make sense for BioWare to move onto projects like Anthem and the next Dragon Age. Who knows when we’ll get another Mass Effect game because Mass Effect: Andromeda has tarnished the reputation of the franchise is a severe way. EA won’t touch this franchise again for maybe a decade given their previous trends. Let’s just hope for the best.
