The first Windows 10 Redstone 4 build will likely get released next week

Microsoft is nearing the public release of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Redmond is currently busy fixing bugs and making minor enhancements to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, and the software maker already released a huge set of improvements with the release of Windows 10 Build 16273 today. Needless to mention, Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring won’t get a lot of new features at this point as Microsoft will only be adding finishing touches to the Fall Creators Update (Redstone 3).

If you are, however, part of Skip Ahead in the Windows Insider program, you’ll soon be able to start testing the next update for Windows 10. For those part of Skip Ahead, Microsoft will soon start releasing Windows 10 Redstone 4 builds from the “RS_PRERELEASE” branch. Dona Sarkar, the head of the Windows Insider program at Microsoft, stated that the company will likely start releasing Redstone 4 builds from next week.

It’s worth noting that the Redstone 4 build that gets released next week will have a higher build number than the latest Fall Creators Update build (16273). Additionally, Microsoft won’t be releasing Redstone 4 builds at the same pace as the regular Fall Creators Update (Redstone 3) builds, and they also won’t include any big changes as its development only started recently.

Windows Insiders part of Skip Ahead will only be able to try out Redstone 4 at the moment. Microsoft no longer lets you join Skip Ahead at the moment, and it’s not clear when it’ll be opened up for new users once again. Redmond will, however, start releasing Redstone 4 builds to all Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring once the Fall Creators Update starts shipping to the public.
