Microsoft now lets you install Windows Store apps on up to 2000 devices

If you have more than a few Windows devices linked to your Microsoft account, you’ll be happy to know that Microsoft is seemingly lifting the anaemic 10 device limit it instated when Windows 10 launched initially.

Windows Central reports that account level changes have been made to some Microsoft accounts, boosting the number of devices one can install apps from the Windows Store on by 20 times, taking it from 10 devices to 2000 devices.

While I haven’t personally seen this roll-out to my account yet, several users of the Microsoft Store have reported seeing this increase. ‘

While Microsoft doesn’t seriously expect anyone to buy 2000 devices, this new update makes it easier to use multiple Windows 10 devices without worrying about this or that account limit. Let me give a practical example: When I used to make use of Windows phones and multiple Windows PCs, it almost became a full-time job to manage PCs and phones to keep below the 10 device limit, otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to use my apps on whatever device I was currently carrying. I can easily see the 10 device limit as something that a number of users can feasibly hit, 2000? Not so much. It is a welcome change.
