New “Language Community” app suggests Microsoft getting ready to fire professional technical translators

First, they came for the  Software Developer Engineer Test, and created the Windows Insider Programme, meaning it is up to Windows 10 users to bug test their own OS.

Now Microsoft is working to exploit this resource in a new way, with a new Language Community app, which would let Microsoft get rid of some of the professional translators needed to support the 109 languages Windows is available in.

The Language Community app lets Insiders capture screenshots of Windows apps and OS elements and high light translations that need improvements.

Insiders are able to send Microsoft translation suggestions or vote for translation suggestions submitted by other Windows Insiders.

This worrying trend will surely only end when Windows is open source and we are expected to code our own OS also.

If you are inclined to work for free and don’t mind costing people’s jobs you can find the app in the Windows Store here.
