Why cook when Bing has a new one click takeaway button

Microsoft is teaming up with UK-based startup Booxscale for a new feature on Bing. The companies are partnering to enable a new experience for UK users on search results. Bing UK users will now be able to order food right from search results thanks to the new integration powered by Booxscale and UK’s Hungry House. When you search for things like “takeaways near me,” Bing will display cards with the nearest restaurants where you can order food. You can also get directions and view the restaurant’s menu thanks to the new feature.

The new experience on Bing is actually quite basic. Booxscale’s database of 250 thousand business effectively show up in Bing search results whenever you search for them, and the results link to things like the menu for that restaurant, directions, and the ability to order online. You can’t actually order anything from Bing, as it’ll simply take you to Hungry House where you can place the order. The Next Web reports that this experience is a bit rough, as some of Booxscale’s data seems outdated and often result in 404 pages on Hungry House which is certainly a bit concerning.
