Microsoft today announced the first major integration of LinkedIn inside Office apps. Millions of users using Microsoft apps and services can now view LinkedIn profiles without navigating to LinkedIn.com. With the new Profile Card in Microsoft Office 365, users can have a quick and easy way to find more information about the people they work with without having to leave their app.
To have this experience, users have to connect their LinkedIn account to their Microsoft account. Once connected, they can start discovering more insights within the Profile Card in theirInbox, your calendar and contacts lists. They have to just hover over a contact’s name to see information from their LinkedIn Profile.
This LinkedIn integration will start to roll out in the coming weeks on Enterprise Outlook Web, SharePoint and OneDrive for Business, starting with Microsoft’s First Release program in October. It will also be coming soon to personal Microsoft account in Outlook Web. Other platforms, such as Outlook desktop, Outlook iOS, and other Office products, will be available in the coming months.
