Microsoft officials confirm Surface Pro LTE arrival date

A Surface Pro built-in with LTE is not actually new news, as Microsoft announced the device way back in May, and even confirmed it will be shipping later this year.

However, after that initial announcement, they never spoke about it again, with the most recent mention of the device being a random listing by Misco, an online retailer in the UK, who opened pre-orders for the device.

Now at Ignite 2017, a Microsoft presenter has confirmed the device will be hitting the virtual shelves on the 1st December, just in time for the executive gift giving season.

The  Surface Pro LTE will feature an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD will cost around £1,169, around £145 more than the non-LTE version. It will also be available with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, also with a Core i5 processor.

We expect to hear more about the device at the Future Decoded conference in London next month, where Microsoft hardware chief Panos Panay will be delivering a keynote. It is widely expected that Microsoft will officially announce the availability details on the Surface Pro LTE device at this event.

The device is being aimed at corporate customers who appreciate the simplicity, reliability and manageability of an always-connected laptop and are not sensitive to the increased cost and monthly subscription.
