Speaking at Microsoft’s Windows Mixed Reality event today, Intel has announced that they will be producing content for Microsoft’s WMR platform by delivering an experience for the Winter Olympics in 2018. The Winter Olympics will be held in February next year in South Korea.
It is not known what the experiences will entail, but the Olympics offer many opportunities for immersive 360-degree video similar to what we have seen last year on Samsung’s Gear VR.
Intel’s interest in WMR may be based on the high processor demands of the platform, with 7th generation Core i5 mobile processors one of the minimum specs for the platform.
