LinkedIn now has Snapchat-style geofilters because of course it does

LinkedIn started rolling its video sharing platform back in August. The company is today launching a new feature for its video platform, which will allow users to display location-based filters to their videos as badges. The feature is a lot like Snapchat’s filters which lets users add different badges depending on their current location.

For LinkedIn, the feature is slightly different. Instead of displaying a filter for every city, the geofilters will only be available when videos are being recorded in an event or conference. That’d obviously require conferences to manually enable this feature, but it’s still an interesting way of showing off which events you attend to your LinkedIn connections. Oh, and, if you are a speaker at a conference, it will show the speaker tag in your filter, too.
