Microsoft has posted an update for the Skype app for Windows 10. Unfortunately, it does not appear to be the all-singing, all-dancing version which has already rolled to iOS and Android, but users do report minor cosmetic improvements.
The update takes the app to version 12.8.480.0 with the most obvious change being an improved taskbar icon.
The app also recently added the ability to right-click to delete chats (vs simply hiding them), set your presence (away, do not disturb etc) in the Profile section of the app and the ability to mention people using the @ symbol in group chats.
As a reminder, users of the Store app are waiting for a new notification panel, support for add-ins like PayPal, Giphy, customizable themes, and more. Hopefully, Microsoft is not planning to dribble the features out an update at a time over the next year.
The current version of the app can be found in the Store here.
