Top 4 games coming to Xbox One next week include SOMA and Black Mirror

A handful of games release on Xbox One every week, ranging from AAA titles to lesser-known indie games. Xbox Wire compiles many of these releases, but misses a few and does not give any recommendations. Here are some of the games coming out the week of November 27 through December 3 that we think you should check out. It’s a short list seeing as only four games are releasing next week on Xbox One. With the fall rush of blockbuster releases over, the rest of the year isn’t nearly as packed, as evidenced last week as well.

SOMA

SOMA is a sci-fi horror game that originally released on PlayStation 4 and PC around two years ago. Now developer Frictional Games, the creators behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent, are bringing this experience to Xbox One. You’ll explore the underwater facility PATHOS-II as you evade monsters in the murky depths below. If that doesn’t sound like a good time, SOMA is actually coming to Xbox One with an exclusive safe mode, which disables all monsters in the game. SOMA was highly praised for its narrative, so a few less scary encounters shouldn’t hinder its quality.

Black Mirror

Black Mirror, no relation to the Netflix show, is being rebooted by THQ Nordic and will release for Xbox One next week. This gothic point-and-click series has been modernized to provide an experience that retains its aesthetics while not feeling dated. Follow David Gordon as he explores his ancestral home in Scotland during the 1920s. Something dark lurks within the Black Mirror castle and a Gaelic curse seems to be haunting his family, causing the death of his father. Uncover the secrets behind these events on November 28.

Blue Angels Aerobatic Flight Simulator

You may have seen the Blue Angels fly during one of their demonstrations across the country as a kid, but now you can experience the thrill for yourself without actually stepping into a plane. Blue Angels Aerobatic Flight Simulator puts you in control of these iconic aircrafts as you fly over 400 mph mere inches from your partner’s own plane. Thanks to an assisted driving system, you can learn extreme stunts with ease.

Sky Force Reloaded

Sky Force Reloaded channels classic vertical scrolling shoot ’em ups and brings the experience to Xbox One. Captured with modern visuals and design, you’ll get to witness flashy explosions and imposing bosses that threaten to incinerate you every step of the way. Just like you’d remember it from playing this type of game in an arcade. Sky Force Reloaded also has a progression system to keep players coming back for more.

Usually this is where I list the rest of the releases, but there just aren’t any to list. Despite the meager offering, these seem to be a decent group of games so be sure to check them out of any of them interest you.
