Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+might not make it to CES

Earlier today we shared the first renders of the upcoming flagship Samsung Galaxy S9+. While the renders didn’t reveal anything much, we were hoping that Samsung might reveal the new device early next year, maybe during CES. Although, as it turns out, the company might not be ready for a CES launch after all.

The Korean Herald reported that Samsung still has doubt about a CES 2018 release and might launch the devices in March in an independent event like they did last year. A Samsung spokesman said “it is unlikely” that the company will show the device at CES 2018. Korean Herald also noted that it’s highly unlikely that Samsung Galaxy S9 will have an on-screen fingerprint scanner since the technical challenges are still left unaddressed.

What Samsung will change about the device in terms of design and specifications is currently unknown. However, the S9 is expected to continue the design language Samsung introduced with the S8, it will likely be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Until then, head to the Idea section to share your views on this matter.
