Windows Timeline gets demoed in the latest Insider Webcast

ساخت وبلاگ

Last night Windows Insider team did a Webcast where they showed us the upcoming Windows Timeline feature. The new feature will be coming out with the next Insider Build but unfortunately, there won’t be any builds till Thursday.

If you forgot, Windows Timeline will allow users to sync their work seamlessly across devices and have a log of all the recent apps. The Insider team showed a live demo of how the feature is coming along and how can the users benefit from it. The team also notes that developers will need to modify the codes to make sure their apps are compatible with Windows Timeline. Microsoft has already worked to modify apps including Edge, News, Sports, Weather, Money, and Maps to work with Windows Timeline feature. Microsoft Office Apps will also show up in the Windows Timeline section as activity cards.

The team gave an overall idea of how Windows Timeline is expected to work. They also talked about privacy and this data can be turned off and/or deleted if the user is not comfortable with data being shared. For the developers, the team said to have a link to guide them in updating their apps in the upcoming blog post. Interesting, Dona Sarkar teased on Twitter that the upcoming blog post is 25 pages long.

We sure do have a lot of things coming up this week and next week for Windows Insiders. For now, you can check out the VOD of the Webcast on Windows Insider Mixer Channel (Timeline demo starts at around 17 minutes mark).
