Apple “need a little more time” to bring iTunes to the Windows Store

In May 2017 we reported a major win for the Windows Store (now the Microsoft Store) when Apple said they would be bringing their iTunes music and phone management app to the Store “soon”, or at least before the end of the year.

It’s of course nearly the end of the year, and we have not seen much sign of the arrival of the major platform app.

Now ZDNet reports that there is indeed a delay, but that the app will still hit the store “soon”.

In  a statement an Apple spokesperson said:

“We have been working with Microsoft to deliver the full iTunes experience to our customers and we need a little more time to get it right.”

The reason for the hold-up is not clear, but Mary Jo Foley notes that the biggest victims are Windows 10 S users who can not install non-store apps. Presumably, this means very few are affected.
