Samsung plays with fire on the Galaxy S9

A couple of hours back we reported about the leaked Front and Back panel of the upcoming flagship Galaxy S9 from Samsung. Now another report claims that Samsung might be planning to add a 3200 mAh battery to S9. This will be a noticeable increment from Galaxy S8 which has a battery of 3000 mAh.

This might be a good thing from the point of view of the users but might backfire Samsung badly. The reason is Galaxy Note 7 disaster. The company had 3500 mAh battery on Note 7 and we know how that situation went down, resulting  in the decision to decrease the battery capacity in follow-up models for safety reasons.

Increasing the battery capacity might be a gamble for Samsung but on the other hand, it will be good for the end users as they are getting around 6.25% increase in battery capacity compared to S8. Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are a bit thicker and will probably support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

We still don’t have a final word on when Samsung plans to unveil them but sources suggest it might happen in February or March. Bloomberg, on the other hand, has shared the exact date which is February 27 but again these are just leaks and speculations so take them with a pinch of salt.
