Here’s how you can stop Windows from opening apps after restart

ساخت وبلاگ

With the release of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, Microsoft introduced a new feature which restored the apps running before the PC was shut down. Microsoft took this approach to preserve your work and to increase productivity. While the feature is handy, it does cause problems and surely users are not happy about it.

Fortunately, there’s a workaround for the users who still want a fresh start when they turn on their computers. The most basic approach you can take is to shut down the computer after closing all the open windows and applications. Another way is to use Alt+F4 shortcut instead of going to Start>Power Button>Shut Down.

If you don’t want to go through this many steps then there’s another way to create a shutdown shortcut on your desktop and use it.For this, you need to Right-click your desktop and then New > Shortcut. Now type (without quotes) “shutdown /s /t 0” and hit Next. Now name your shortcut and choose an icon for it. Once done, you can double-click on it to shut down your computer without preserving the applications. You can create similar shortcuts for Restart and Fast-boot as well. The command (without quotes) for restart is “shutdown /r /t 0” and for fast-boot, is “shutdown /s /hybrid /t 0”.

These are the commands available to you right now. We do hope that Microsoft gives us an option to prevent Windows from preserving the applications but until then you can use the above-mentioned steps and commands to prevent it.
