Leaked Android Oreo build brings Dolby Atmos for Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung is working hard to bring the Android Oreo update to its current flagship devices Galaxy S8 and S8+. The company is already running a beta program to ensure all the bugs get ironed off before making it public. Today a user on Reddit user named /u/Child_Kicker_16 noticed a new update rolling to Snapdragon S8 variant which brought Dolby Atmos.

For those who don’t know, Dolby Atmos is a popular surround sound technology that provides audio enhancement to devices whose maker has licensed the technology. Apart from Dolby Atmos, the update also brought the Android security patch for January.

As of now, the update is not available publicly but you can sideload it if you have Snapdragon variant of S8 and you’re running Android Oreo beta BQL1 update. Rest assured it won’t tip off Knox as it is an official build. If you don’t want to risk your device then you might not have to wait for long as Samsung just got Wi-Fi Alliance certification for Android Oreo and the fact that Samsung plans to end the Oreo Beta program on 15th January. If you’re looking to buy Samsung Galaxy S8 then you can do so by visiting Microsoft Store.
