Microsoft has just put the final nail in Windows Mobile’s coffin, declaring that no more Insider builds will be delivered to the OS.

The news was delivered in typical fashion by Microsoft over twitter by a Senior Program Manager for the  Windows Insider team Brandon LeBlanc who merely said:

Microsoft had earlier promised to keep the Insider Program going for Windows Mobile, but apparently, plans have changed:

Before:

and now:

Microsoft has of course been phasing out Windows Mobile since 2015, and there are likely only a few hundred thousand to low millions of Windows Phones still in use.

Microsoft is rumoured to be working on a replacement operating system for mobile devices based on a new adaptable shell called C-Shell, but as we know, “Plans Change” and we do not know if such a device will ever reach the market.

Given that Microsoft has now finally shut the door on the last element of updating their mobile OS, and are now selling a variety of Android phones in their store, will our readers who are still on the OS remain loyal? Let us know below.
