Intel releases new Spectre patches for Skylake-based PCs

ساخت وبلاگ

Last month, Intel pulled back its Spectre patches for some platforms as it caused rebooting and other unexpected issues in PCs. Intel today announced updated Spectre patches for Skylake-based PCs. They have released them to OEM customers and industry partners, they will test Intel’s patch and then release it to general customers.

It is highly recommended to update your PCs with these patches. According to the Department of Homeland Security’s cyber-emergency unit, US-CERT, as many as 85 percent of all targeted attacks can be prevented with regular system updates.

“I can’t emphasize enough how critical it is for everyone to always keep their systems up-to-date. Research tells us there is frequently a substantial lag between when people receive updates and when they actually implement them. In today’s environment, that must change,” wrote Navin Shenoy, executive vice president and general manager of the Data Center Group at Intel.
