Chrome adds flag for mysterious Tab Groups feature

It was revealed in November that Google was working on a new Tab Group feature in their Chrome browser, with a code change request in Google’s Chrome repository saying:

Users can organize tabs into visually distinct groups, e.g. to separate tabs associated with different tasks.

Now the work appears to have progressed, with a new experimental About:Flags entry being added for it in Chrome 73, as can be seen in the screenshot above.

That entry notes:

Allows users to organize tabs into visually distinct groups, e.g. to separate tabs associated with different tasks.

The feature would be available on all desktop versions of Chrome, ie. Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS. It is still not clear what this would look like, with users already, of course, able to tear off tabs into different windows.
