Few weeks back, Microsoft released a redesigned Skype app that brings back a bottom bar to streamline navigation and simplify access to Skype’s core features. Since most Android users expressed preference for similar design, Microsoft has now started testing this design for Android devices too. This is new version of Skype app for Android features the following:
- Adheres to Google’s Material Design guidelines for bottom bar navigation
- Brings back a contextual FAB for quick access to key actions
- Has an updated header & search icon to feel more at home on Android
In this update, Skype team is also introducing a new experience called “SuperComposer”. When users tap the compose FAB on Android on the main chats list, they will be presented with a new screen that includes their recent contact list, as well as easy access to actions including new group, search bots, add contact, invite to Skype, and make a call. Download and try this new Skype app for Android and provide feedback to the team to make the app even better.
