Google begins its roll out of the Google Pay app and service

Last month, Google announced that it was merging Android Pay and Google Wallet together into one new app/service: Google Pay.

Today, the firm is taking its first step and rolling out the app to users worldwide, with US users reportedly getting it first.

“We’re currently working on bringing Google Pay to all Google products, so whether you’re shopping on Chrome or with your Assistant, you’ll have a consistent checkout experience using the cards saved to your Google Account. ” explained Google’s Varouj Chitilian and Gerardo Capiel in a blog post on Tuesday.”We’re also working with partners online and in stores, so you’ll see Google Pay on sites, in apps, and at your favorite places around the world.”

With Google Pay, you’ll be able to make payments using the payment details and bank cards you have saved in your Google account whether it’s on your Android phone with Tap to Pay, or on your PC with Google Chrome. Google is hoping that more and more online retailers will adopt Pay so that the service becomes as ubiquitous as let’s say — PayPal.

You’ll even be able to use it to send and request money (if you’re in the US and UK) within the next few months, so Google is already working on new payment features.

Android users can grab Google Play from the Play Store link here.
