Windows is not exactly the leading platform for the Inteet of Things, with that position firmly held by the iPhone.
Microsoft has tried to address this by deeply baking in AllJoyn support into Windows 10, but so far we have seen precious few developers take advantage of this cross-platform IoT standard.
Due to Windows 10 itself now being a very universal platform, ruing on phones, tablets, PCs and even the Hololens, surprisingly powerful behaviour is possible if you combine the various technologies.
In the above video we have developer Morton Nielsen demonstrate controlling a bedside lamp over AllJoyn using Hololens control gestures, with the target of his gestures being identified by his gaze alone.
The demo illustrates what is possible if augmented reality was pervasive, but I think we would have to wait a few more years until the technology comes down a lot in price and comfort of use.
In the mean time we hope more developers make use of the IoT foundation built into Windows 10, especially now more than 1/4 Billion people use the OS.
