Microsoft today aounced FYQ4 2016 eaings results. Revenue was $20.6 billion GAAP, and $22.6 billion non-GAAP and operating income was $3.1 billion GAAP, and $6.2 billion non-GAAP. Revenue in Productivity and Business Processes grew 5% (up 8% in constant currency) to $7.0 billion. Dynamics products and cloud services revenue grew 6% (up 7% in constant currency) with Dynamics CRM Online paid seats growing more than 2.5x year-over-year. Dynamics billings grew over 20% while Dynamics CRM Online seat doubled YoY with 4 out of every 5 new CRM customers choosing CRM Online. Also, Microsoft highlighted that Dynamics now has nearly 10 million total monthly paid seats, growing more than 20% YoY.
Microsoft’s recent decision to acquire LinkedIn will benefit Dynamics the most. If everything goes by Microsoft’s plan, Dynamics can become a serious business inside Microsoft just like Azure, Office and Windows.
