Microsoft aounces Edge web browser for Android and iOS and devices

Based on the feedback from millions of Windows users, Microsoft today aounced Edge web browser for Android and iOS devices. Microsoft Edge for iOS and Android will come with all the features that are available on its desktop counterpart like your Favorites, Reading List, New Tab Page and Reading View. If you use Microsoft Edge on your mobile device, you can continue your browsing session on your PC whenever you want.

Microsoft Edge features:

• From PC to mobile, you can browse seamlessly across your devices, while your information syncs in the background. Go anywhere and pick up where you left off by easily moving content between your mobile device and your Windows 10 PC
• Hub View makes it easy to find and manage your content like favorites, reading list, history and books all in one place.
• Reading View allows you to reorganize the content on a webpage to make it easier to focus on what you’re reading.
• Find, view, and share content effortlessly with a built-in QR Code Reader to pull up information at a touch of a button, Voice Search to use the web in more familiar ways, and InPrivate mode to keep your browsing data private.

As expected, and mandatory on iOS, the app is a shell over the WebKit rendering engine on iOS and Chromium engine on Android, a first for Microsoft.

Surprisingly the app is launching without its most important feature – the ability to sync passwords from your PC browser or view your browsing history.

Microsoft Edge for iOS and Android will be initially available only in US-English alone. Microsoft will expand to other languages in the future. Microsoft is also working on features like roaming passwords and support for iPads/Android tablets that will come in the future.
